How much will you lose on Wegovy or Zepbound? Enter your weight and drug for a trial-grounded projection — shown as an honest range from published data, with a lean-mass overlay so you see fat versus muscle.
A trial-grounded forecast of where the scale could land — shown as a range, not one rosy line, with a lean-mass overlay so you see what kind of weight you’re losing. Inputs stay on your device.
| Milestone | Lost (range) | Weight (mean) |
|---|---|---|
| Week 4 | 4–7 lb | 215 lb |
| Week 24 | 19–32 lb | 195 lb |
| Week 48 | 29–49 lb | 181 lb |
| Week 72maintenance | 34–57 lb | 174 lb |
Of the ~46 lb at the trial mean, about 11.5 lb may be lean mass. Adding resistance training + protein could cut that to 3.7 lb — the muscle you keep.
Where these numbers come from. Terminal mean is 20.9% body-weight loss from SURMOUNT-1 (Jastreboff AM et al, NEJM 2022;387:205-216; n=2,539, 72 wk).
Estimand: on-treatment / trial-completer means — i.e. if you tolerate the drug, reach the studied dose, and stay on it. Intent-to-treat figures (counting people who stop early) are lower. The band is the mean ± ~1 SD of individual response; a meaningful minority lose noticeably less. Individual results vary — this is not a guarantee or medical advice.

This projection is built from the two landmark trials, applied to your starting weight: STEP 1 for semaglutide (Wegovy, ~15% average loss at 68 weeks) and SURMOUNT-1 for tirzepatide (Zepbound, ~21% at 72 weeks). Instead of one line, we show a range, because response varies a lot: roughly a third of people exceed the average and a third fall short.
The curve builds over ~68–72 weeks as the dose is titrated, then flattens toward a plateau. The lean-mass overlay separates likely fat loss from muscle loss — see high-protein foods and body composition for why that matters.
The tool also covers Ozempic and Mounjaro — but honestly: those are the diabetes-label versions of the same two molecules, and their weight numbers come from diabetes trials where loss ran lower and was a secondary outcome. The calculator flags that and shows conservative estimates rather than borrowing the obesity-trial figures they were never studied for.
